In October 1979, the song, written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, was released as a single. The vocals were provided by Agnetha Fältskog. She is the narrator of the story about a young woman who longs for a romantic relationship while sitting alone and lonely in her dark, empty house. She sings about the difference between her situation and the ‘happy endings’ of films. Some people think she is going mad and would do anything for a relationship, even if it is just a one-night stand. The arrangement was written by Jan van Kraeydonck.
