‘Dancing Queen’ is the biggest hit by Swedish pop group ABBA and one of the biggest pop hits of all time. The single was originally released in August 1976 and later appeared on the album Arrival in October of that year. On 12 September 1992, the song was also released on CD single to coincide with the release of the compilation album ABBA Gold-Greatest Hits. Dancing Queen sold a total of 8.8 million copies worldwide. ABBA played the song live for the first time on Friday evening, 18 June 1976, at the Royal Swedish Opera during a gala broadcast live on Swedish television on the eve of the wedding of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia. The song had previously been shown on German and Japanese television. The Spanish-language version Reina Danzante, later renamed La Reina Del Baile, appeared in 1980 on the album ‘Gracias Por La Musica’. To promote the compilation album ‘ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits’, the song was re-released on CD single in Europe in 1992. Frank Bernaerts made an arrangement for concert band, fanfare and brass band.
