‘O pine tree’ (German: O Tannenbaum) is one of the best-known Christmas carols. The original German-language song is said to have originated from a text of a 16th-century Silesian folk song by the popular composer Melchior Franck (1579-1639), ‘Ach Tannenbaum’ English composer and arranger Darrol Barry wrote a fantasy for concert band, fanfare and brass band based on this song in which the Christmas tree has a very special adventure including: The Christmas Tree Overture, The Christmas Tree Takes A Swing, The Christmas Tree Meets The Vienna Waltz, The Christmas Tree Dances The Paso Doble & The Magical Tree Finale.
