‘Frosty the Snowman’ is a popular winter song written by Jack Rollins and Steve Nelson, first recorded by Gene Autry and the Cass County Boys in 1950 and later recorded by Jimmy Durante that year. It was written after the success of ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ the previous year. It describes the adventures of Frosty, a snowman who comes to life after a group of children put a magic silk hat on his head. Frank Bernaerts made a special swinging arrangement with the aptly adapted title: ‘Frosty… The Swinging Snowman!’.
